Five Mind Therapy takes a holistic approach to therapy. We understand that people are part of unique and complex networks of relationships, personal narratives, histories, cultures and beliefs.
Taking a systemic view of the individual and how they fit in their world in order to develop a personalised approach that is compassionate, supportive and trauma informed.
Individual Counselling
Individual counselling with Five Mind Therapy utilises a diverse approach that draws on the deep philosophical history of Traditional Chinese Medicine and incorporates modern psycho therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and psychodynamic therapy into a holistic, trauma informed and strengths based therapy.
From this foundation, therapy can progress in a variety of directions along five broad therapeutic domains (connection, story, meaning, intuition and systems)
Family Therapy
Engaging in therapy with your family, whether it is your biological family or your chosen family can be a highly effective and powerful way to create meaningful change in your life. Each session is as different as each family is different. It allows the family to have a different kind of conversation and take a broader perspective that doesn’t focus on an individual but how the family is functioning as a system.
